Jamshedpur, Sept. 22: Coronavirus cases continue to rise in Jamshedpur. The positive cases have climbed to 12,370 in district with 124 new cases reported on Tuesday.

Positive tally has climbed to 12,370 while the death toll has reached 298 with 3 deaths  on Tuesday.  

326 people recovered of the virus on Tuesday taking the total recovery to 10078 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 1994. The district administration spokesperson informed that 124 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Tuesday. East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 68144 test per million. The mortality rate in East Singhbhum stands at 2.4 % while recovery rate is 82.3%.

With a total of 1,207 fresh cases of Coronavirus being detected across the state on Tuesday the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has crossed 73000 mark.

Ten deaths have been reported in Jharkhand on Tuesday including 3 from Jamshedpur,  4 from West Singhbhum  and one each from Dumka, Hazaribagh and Koderma. 

The overall death count stands at 636 in Jharkhand.

As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was around 13, 000 while number of cured and discharged cases is 58, 000. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 626.

On Tuesday a maximum number of 278 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 124 in Jamshedpur, 71 in Hazaribagh, 94, 73 in Saraikela and 105 in West Singhbhum districts.

A total of 1,427 number of people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 326 from Jamshedpur.   

Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once again gone above 75 percent mark.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.

The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.

The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses reopened after around 6 months following SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls also resumed after a long time
