9 deaths, 1013 new cases in Jharkhand
Jamshedpur, Oct 1: Coronavirus positive cases in Jamshedpur are nearing 14,000 mark with 165 new cases reported on Thursday, October 1.
The positive cases have climbed to 13,995 in district with 165 new cases reported on Thursday.
Positive tally has climbed to 13,995 while the death toll has reached 321 with 1 death on Thursday. 40 people recovered of the virus taking the total recovery to 11499 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 2175.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 165 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Thursday.
With a total of 1,013 fresh cases of Coronavirus being detected across the state on Thursday the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has reached to 84,664.
During the day 9 deaths were reported including 3 from Ranchi and one each from Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur, Godda, Dhanbad, Deoghar and Bokaro districts after which the overall death count has increased to 721 in the state.
The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.85 percent. As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 11,482 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 72461 including 1119 recoveries on Thursday. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 721.
On Thursday a maximum number of 266 cases were found in Ranchi, followed by 165 in East Singhbhum, 106 in Bokaro, 58 in Hazaribagh, 34 in West Singhbhum and 46 in Saraikela.
A total of number of 1,119 people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 448 from Ranchi, 108 in Dhanbad, 40 from East Singhbhum, 56 from Deoghar, 37 from Saraikela and 60 from West Singhbhum districts.
Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once again gone above 80 percent mark to currently stand at 85.58 percent in Jharkhand.
So far in the state 22,95,654 samples have been collected out of which 22,86, 107 have been tested and 22,01,443 have turned out to be negative. The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.
