Jamshedpur, Sept. 18: Coronavirus cases have crossed eleven thousand five hundred mark in Jamshedpur with 357 new cases reported on Friday, September 18.

Positive tally has climbed to 11513 while the death toll climbed to 285 with 4 deaths on Friday.   

443 people recovered of the virus on Friday taking the total recovery to 8767 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 2461. The district administration spokesperson informed that 357 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Friday. East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 59527 test per million. The mortality rate in East Singhbhum stands at 2.5 % while recovery rate is 78.6%.

With a total of 1478 fresh cases of Coronavirus being detected across the state on Friday the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has crossed 68,578.

During the day 7 deaths were also reported in the state. 4 from Jamshedpur, 2 from Dhanbad and one from West Singhbhum succumbed to the virus on Friday. With 7 deaths on Friday state corona toll has climbed to 603 while total positive cases has climbed to 68578 of which 13924 are active and 54052 have recovered.    

On Friday a maximum number of 492 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 357 in East Singhbhum, 64 in Palamu, 41 in Seraikela-Kharsawan, 107 in West Singhbhum.

A total of 1245 number of people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid19 facilities during the day including 340 in Ranchi and 443 in Jamshedpur.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.

The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.

The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses reopened after around 6 months following SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls also resumed after a long time.
