Ranchi, July 5: Coronavirus cases in Jharkhand have crossed 2800 mark with 53 new cases reported on Sunday, July 5. With 53 new cases the state tally has risen to 2807.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 500 mark. With 21 new cases reported on Sunday, July 5 the total cases in East Singhbhum district stands at 501.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 15 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, 21 positives were reported in Jamshedpur along with two casualties in Sonari and Saatchi area of the Steel City.
Of the 15 new positives in Jamshedpur, 1 person has a travel history to Odisha.
Of the new cases in Jamshedpur on Sunday, 1 is a resident of Potka, 1 Sonari, 1 Kitadih, 5 Baridih, 3 Bagbera, 1 Mango, 1 Parsudih and 2 positive persons reside at Jugsalai taking the district tally to 501.
All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 ward.
Other positives in Jharkhand are from Bokaro 1, Deoghar 1, Dhanbad 6, Giridih 1, Khunti 1, Koderma 3, Lohardaga 10, Pakur 1, Palamu 2, Ranchi 5, Sahebganj 1, Seraikela 4 and Simdega 2 taking the state positive tally to 2807.
On Sunday, 6 patients have recovered in East Singhbhum district of which 4 were discharged from TMH and 2 from MGM COVID-19 ward. One of the recovered person 1 is a resident of Mango, 2 from Dumaria, 1 from Bagunnagar in Baridih, 1 Burmamines and 1 person is from Pakur.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 743 and fatalities at 19 while 2045 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2100 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 501 cases out of a total of 2807. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
Earlier on July 4, in a single day the state has recorded its highest number of casualties as four people died due to Coronavirus on Saturday. Out of these 4, two have died in RIMS while two others passed away in Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur.
Overall death caused due to Coronavirus in Jharkhand has now increased to 19. Earlier two corona positive each died in Bokaro and Giridih, one each in Gumla, Sahebganj, Koderma and Simdega, 3 in Hazaribagh, 4 in Ranchi.
