Motivates youth to join army
Jamshedpur: The Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday motivated the youths to join the army and serve the nation.
Addressing a gathering of army officers, former servicemen and widows of army jawans at the inaugural ceremony of army fair at Gopal Maidan, Soren said Jharkhand is a land of heroes and the youths here have caliber to serve the nation. They must follow footsteps of their fore fathers and join the armed forces. The State has glorious past and the youths must imbibe the rich culture and saga of the heroes.
“We must encourage the youths to join army in good numbers to help Jharkhand develop as a disciplined state,” he added.
Soren, said his government was aware of issues concerning the former servicemen.” We are working on plans for their welfare. The government is also providing funds for education to army veterans”.
The CM also felicitated and handed over cheques to ex-servicemen and widows, including Balam Ekka, wife of Jharkhand’s warrior Albert Ekka. After the function the Chief Minister also inaugurated pension adalat.
Lt. Gen Gyan Bhusan of South Western Command, Jaipur, said stressed on the need to provide better medical care for the former servicemen. “We have already set up a medical regional centre in Ranchi. Several other clinics are working and soon a clinic will come up at Chaibasa and Dhanbad,” he added.
After the inaugural ceremony, it was time for some nerve-wracking action on the ground. Jawans of Army Services Corps came up with their stuns on motorbikes like handle bar ride, reverse salute, side balance, back vaulting, wheel barrow, solo ladder and the pyramid formation of the riders, among others was performed.
The main attraction was Paramotors where Deen Dayal Yadav , Chief Instructor, Para Brigade from Agra along with Yogesh Patel, the 25-year-old para jumping instructor gave thrilling performance.
The jawans also presented the khukriand lezim dance while the Bihar Regiment displayed Chau. The event is being organised by 23 Infantry Division on behalf South-Western Command. A Know Your Army Exhibition and variety of entertainment programmes are lined up for the event.
