Prakash Jha plans to open multiplex in every district of Jharkhand
Online booking opens May 17, public viewing from May 18
Jamshedpur, May 16: The Steel City is all set to join the list of metro cities boasting of a six-screened multiplex presenting 30 film shows daily at P&M Hi Tech City Centre mall in Bistupur.
PJP Cinema’s which is a joint venture of renowned film producer Prakash Jha and well known industrialist of Jharkhand R.K. Agarwal along with Mexico based multiplex chain Cinepolis is all set to inaugurate its first multiplex in the city under the brand name PJP Cinepolis on May 17 evening.
The multiplex will open doors for public viewing on May 18 but the online booking of tickets will begin on May 17 through Paytm, BookMyShow and Cinepolis app.
Addressing the press meet on Wednesday, Sunil Agarwal, CEO, P&M Hi-tech Infrastructures Ltd.,
said that Cinepolis is World’s renowned Multiplex Chain having more than 4500 screens under operation worldwide.
PJP Cinepolis started in 2007 from Patna and in the last 10 years the multiplex chain has 350 plus screens in the country.
He added that the multiplex is spread across 40,000 square feet and is well equipped with all the modern facilities and most advanced technologies. It will be a state-of-the art facility with 6-screen multiplex accommodating 1000+ seats.
‘It will totally be a new experience for the people of Jamshedpur as the cinema is fully air-conditioned with plush seats, offering extra wide leg rooms and excellent screen viewing angles. It will bring together 100 per cent digital technology RealD, the world’s best 3D technology, most advanced Film projection system, artistically designed lobby, JBL’s Surround Dolby Digital DTS Sound System to give extraordinary cinema viewing experience’, Sunil noted.
R.K. Agarwal said that the dream of the people of Jamshedpur to have a full fledged multiplex in the city is now becoming a reality. We have been holding talks with other top fashion brands like Vero Moda to open their outlets at the mall. At the third floor children corner will be opened with virtual games.
Filmaker Prakash Jha said, ‘the story started 35 to 40 years back and when my friend Manmohan Shetty developed Adlabs Films Ltd, one of India’s largest media and entertainment firms, I thought why the people of Bihar and Jharkhand be deprived of quality movie experience and it was in the year 2007 when we along with Cinepolis launched our first multiplex at Patna.
Gangaajal director further said that with the full fledged multiplex in Jamshedpur people will have a choice and option to watch the film of their choice and timing which suits them.
‘We have plans to set up regional cinema museum here and host film festivals. We are in talks with the government of Jharkhand top open a mall and a multiplex in every district of Jharkhand’, added Jha.
He informed that the mall has provided direct jobs to around 1200 people of which 65 are employed with PJP Cinepolis.
Movie lovers will also be able to enjoy freshly prepared, high quality food from the concessions located in the spacious cinema lobby. Among some of the specialties will be the different flavors of popcorn-butter salted, caramel and cheese.
Not to be missed is the half-n-half mixed popcorn experience. There is a separate coffee shop under the Brand Name “Coffee Tree” to serve freshly prepared Gourmet food and coffee.
