Jamshedpur : Protests have erupted after the Carmel Junior College decision to bring shutters down on its Hindi school or project school from March 14 leaving more than 200 students in lurch.
Parents of these children from classes II to VI are protesting against the move. The principal of the Carmel Hindi School, Sister Gita said that they have decided to close the Hindi school because the school does not have a per- mission to run a school in the same campus According to the state government, a Hindi school even if running in the same campus needs a proper registration and affiliation to a board. Meanwhile the parents have also threatened that they will not allow students of English medium school to enter the campus.
The principal said that they had planned this about three years ago for which they did away with classes VII, VIII and IX last year. Also there has been no admission last year and this year in Kg.
” It is not our mistake. We have informed parents them many times. We cannot hamper classes of English medium school. We are not against educating children but it is just that we want them to study better if we cannot pursue this,” said Sister Gita. The parents however have said that they will agitate untill and unless there is a solution.
