Jamshedpur: A breast cancer diagnosis cum awareness camp was organized at Gandhi Ashram in Baradwari on Wednesday. Dr Surabhi and Dr Nandini of Bramhananda Multispecialty Hospital examined 36 women on this occasion. They informed the women about various aspects of breast cancer and stressed the need to remain aware.

They said prevention was better than cure and awareness could help women a great deal.

The women were also addressed by Poonam Vig, president of the city-based NGO Samadhan. She said undergoing medical checkup could help ensure early and timely diagnosis of the disease. She said the women should not feel embarrassed or ashamed while dealing with the topic.

Among those present on the occasion included Harjeet Bhatia, Amita Mahendru and Geeta Bagadia.
