Jamshedpur: A blood donation and awareness camp was arranged by Jharkhand Badhir (Deaf and Dumb) Society in association with Jamshedpur Blood Bank on Monday.
Dr L B Singh, Dr R K Verma, Dr Rita Singh Dr V Kamath, Medical Officers, blood bank were present at the camp to help visitors donate blood.
The camp was held under the guidance and active participation of Bhusan Kumar Khan, Samiran Lal, Santosh kr. Singh, Deepak Kumar, Gopal Rao and DN Jha. They also donated blood to encourage the participants.
About 35 enthusiastic people including women got registered for blood donation, out of which, 20 candidates were able to donate blood as the donors went through a series of medical check-ups before blood donation.
All the enthusiastic participants were given snacks with coffee and biscuits and cold drink. Donors (who donated their blood) were given lunch and a certificate of appreciation for this service to humanity.
A confidential blood test report shall be provided to the donors by Jamshedpur blood bank later. A donor’s card was also provided to the donors to facilitate them with an extraordinary service of getting blood units( of any blood group) whenever required for their immediate family members from the Jamshedpur blood bank in near future for one year.
Speaking (through sign language) on the occasion Bhusan Kumar Khan said,” Blood donation is a noble cause and every blood donor has contributed towards community development. “Blood can’t be manufactured as other things can, it can only be given to save the lives” stressed Mr. Khan. We thank our donors for their participation and will continue to associate ourselves with the Jamshedpur blood bank for such initiatives in the near future.”
Samiran Lal, vice-president, appraised the gathering with his motivational speech and said donating blood is a lifesaving attempt. “You don’t lose anything if you donate blood as human body has a regenerating mechanism” added Lal.
Deepak Kumar, treasurer, applauded the participants and said in his talk that a healthy adult could give blood 3-4 times a year without any problem. He also said that everyone should donate blood as it replicates human values and social responsibility towards our society.
At last, Santosh Kumar Singh, Honorary General Secretary thanked Bhusan Kumar Khan for his efforts to organize this blood donation camp in a well-planned manner. He also thanked Gopal Rao, Somnath Paul and Anup Dutta for working hard without taking a rest.
Singh saluted to our special hearing donors like Ashok Kr. Singh, ParveenSingh, Subrat Pattnaik, Abhishek Kumar, Ajit Singh and Nikhilesh Tripathy for their highly enthusiastic contribution in organizing this camp and making it a success.
