Jamshedpur : Days after polling in Jamshedpur, election fever is yet to sink amongst party workers and if the camps near Jamshedpur Co-operative College (JCC), near strong room are an indication that the fight for Jamshedpur parliamentary seat has narrowed down between JVM and BJP and the talks related to all the calculations doing the rounds have centred near the strong room.
As of now, JVM and BJP have set up camps at the Jamshedpur Cooperative College from Sunday to keep a vigil on the EVMs at the strong room.
While the Deputy Commissioner-cum-district returning officer Amitabh Kaushal has ensured smooth conduct of the counting exercise, the political parties are all set to hold a ‘show of strength’ near the strong room on the day of counting.
The counting for six constituencies in the district, Bahragora, Ghatshila, Potka, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West and Jugsalai would take place at Jamshedpur Co-operative College. Separate counting tables would be arranged for each assembly area.
The BJP camp located 100 meters away from the JVM’s camp near the Jamshedpur Cooperative College has arrangements for indoor games like carrom and ludo.
“Yes our camp has now become hub of activities these days even senior leaders love to spend time here meeting with the workers and participating in election talks. We are assured of winning back the seat. In fact we have begun planning for May 16 celebrations after announcement of the result. Our tent is based on vastu shastra,” said Rajesh Pathak, a party worker. The camp also has provision for snacks and water.
JVM camp has made arrangements for drinking water and also cots for supporters to take rest. Party workers are also fully engrossed in the guesswork as to their political fortunes which remain sealed in the EVMs inside strong rooms of Jamshedpur Co-operative College.
“On the basis of the reports received so far from the constituency, we are confident that our candidate from Jamshedpur Ajoy Kumar will emerge the winner. Almost all the political analysts of the city has expressed confidence over his victory are we all assured,” said C H Rammurthi, JVM functionary. He said that every party worker was involved in the election campaign and worked hard to mobilise the voters.
Meanwhile, in every nook and corner of the city the discussions are on full swing over the fate of contestants in fray for Lok Sabha.
“Ajoy jee has given a tough fight to all the contestants and people have shown faith in the leadership of Babulal Marandi, we are confident that our candidates across the State would rise in counting exercise,” said another JVM leader.
