Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP president Dinesh Kumar Friday expressed grief over the demise of former MLA Dinanath Pandey. He said the veteran leader’s death was a great loss to the BJP and the society.
“We have lost a great leader of the people who showed courage in every situation. With his demise, an era has ended. He had recently donated Rs 10,000 to the BJP as a lifetime donation,” said Kumar who is currently in New Delhi to attend the National Council meet of BJP at Ramlila Maidan.
District BJP spokesperson Ankit Anand said the former MLA’s death was a personal loss to him. He said the former leader was the ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee’ of Jharkhand and Bihar. Pandey was loved and liked by one and all across party lines, he said.
Former district president and senior party leader Chandrashekhar Mishra paid tributes to the former legislator by reaching his residence. He said late Pandey was an epitome of honesty and simplicity.
Jharkhand State Khadi Board member Kulwant Singh Bunty said late Pandey would be known for his humility and dedication to public service. He visited the former legislator’s residence to pay tributes to the departed soul.
Former district vice president Satish Singh said Dinanath Pandey will be known for helping the poor and needy people. Despite being MLA for three terms, ‘Baba’ was never accused of corruption, he said.
District BJYM president Amarjeet Singh Raja remembered ‘Dina Baba’ as a leader loved by his supporters as well as his political opponents. He said the BJYM had postponed its Yuva Samagam programme scheduled to be held on 12th January in a mark of respect to the veteran leader.
A meeting of Narendra Modi Vichar Manch was held at Security Club, Garamnala, on Friday. The participants observed silence for two minutes to pay tributes to late Dinanath Pandey.
