American Cocker Spaniel from Kolkata adjudged ‘Best in Show’

Jamshedpur, Jan 13: The 68th, 69th & 70th Championship Dog Show concluded with All Breed Show and prize distribution at JRD Tata Sports Complex on Sunday.

The three-day annual event organised by Jamshedpur Kennel Club saw people from all walks of life witness amazing antics of the canines.

German shepherd double coat owned by Ritesh Mittal of Bengaluru was crowned the overall champion of the Jamshedpur Dog Show. For the first time 347 canines were part of the show.

Being a Sunday, citizens in large number thronged the venue. This edition brought top 15 winning dogs from all over India.

The venue included pet stalls, eating outlets and entertainment facilities for children. Canines from Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, New Delhi were part of the show.

German shepherd double coat owned by Ritesh Mittal was declared the ‘Best in Show’ at the 68th Pointed Championship Dog Show. Rottweiler owned by Chandra Bhattacharya won the award for the ‘Second Best in Show’.   

The third best in show award was bagged by American Cocker Spaniel owned by Pallab Saha of Kolkata.

Certificate for Best in Show Breed in India was won by German shepherd double coat.

Reserved best in Show Breed in India was bagged by Rottweiler owned by Chandrima Bhattachrya.

Pallabh Saha’s American Cocker Spaniel also bagged the best of puppy in show. Reserved Best of Puppy in show was won by Siberian Husky owned by Ayush Bhalotia.

Pashmi dog owned by Prasad Mayekar C/O Rupa Prasad was adjudged best Indian Breed.

Reserved Best Indian Breed award was bagged by Caravan Hound owned by Sukanta Mondal at the 68th Pointed Championship Dog Show.

At the 69th Pointed Championship Dog Show American Cocker Spaniel owned by Pallab Saha of Kolkata was declared the best in show.

Certificate for Best in Show Breed was won by Afghan Hound owned by V. Vijaya Prabhakaran.

Best of Puppy in show at the 69th championship was American Cocker Spaniel owned by Pallab Saha of Kolkata. 

Pashmi dog owned by Prasad Mayekar C/O Rupa Prasad was adjudged best Indian Breed at the 69th show.

German shepherd double coat owned by Ritesh Mittal of Bengaluru was again the winner at the 70th Championship Dog Show.

Certificate for Best in Show Breed was won by German Shepherd Dog Double Coat owned by Ritesh Mittal of Bengaluru. 

Doberman owned by V. Vijaya Prabhakaran was adjudged the best of puppy in show. Caravan Hound owned by Sukata Mondal won the best Indian breed at the 70th Championship Dog Show.

This year the Obedience and All Breed Show was judged by four eminent judges- Dr M Viarbitskaya from Belarus, J Rangarajan, T Preetham and Sanjit Kr Mohanty from India.

Panel of judges evaluated various performances of dogs and the winners were felicitated during the prize distribution ceremony on January 12, 2020 by Ruchi Narendran, President, Jamshedpur Kennel Club & judges.

It may be mentioned here that the top rate dogs of India participated in the event.
