Jamshedpur, March 23: The annual tradition of organizing Basant Utsav will continue with Tagore Society presenting the current episode at Rabindra Bhawan Auditorium on Sunday, March 24.
Giving details of the program to the media Tagore Society general secretary Asish Chowdhury informed that Basant Utsav will comprise songs and dances based on Kobi Guru Rabindranath’s ode to the Queen of seasons, spring.
The day will commence with the students of Tagore Society marching around the Rabindra Bhawan complex at 6:30 in the morning. The symbolic joy of colours will be celebrated by the students with the sprinkling of ‘abeer.’ Thereafter, they will render songs and dances based on Tagore’s compositions to eulogize the Basant Ritu (season).
The sequence will be followed up at 6:30 pm at the Rabindra Bhawan where the School’s teachers and students will render presentations of Rabindra Sangeet and dance performances based on Tagore’s creations in salutation to the season of colours.
Asish Chowdhury said, “Basant Ritu is actually the celebration of life as reflected by nature through its colourful bloom. This program, Basant Utsav is based on these aspects.” He exhorted all music and dance lovers to be present at Rabindra Bhawan on March 24 to participate in the flavors of joy and colours.
