Jamshedpur, July 11: The Deputy Commissioner-cum- District magistrate Ravi Shankar Shukla has directed that no autorickshaw will be allowed to carry more than two passengers. He has also ordered that two wheelers will be prohibited from carrying double ride.

In keeping with the orders, The Executive Officer of Mango Municipal Corporation Ravindra Gagrai today conducted checks at Mango Chowk, Dimna Road and other command areas to implement the norms. He along with the magistrates deputed ensured that no autorickshaw carried more than two passengers and no two-wheeler had more than one rider.

Those found guilty of bending the rules were detained and were booked under the DM Act with relevant clauses. 14 autorickshaw drivers in Mango police station area and 63 in Azadnagar were booked for offences under various Sections of the DM Act. The Mango Municipal Corporation Special Officer Ravindra Gagrai was accompanied by the magistrates, City Manager Anay Raj, Santosh Kumar and Nandu Kumar.
