Ranchi, June 17: Legendry Australian seamer Glenn McGrath on Monday gave pace bowling tips to U19, U23 and Ranji team players along with their coaches during the pace bowling clinic at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
The first day of the two-day long Pace bowling clinic at the JSCA International Stadium Complex organised in association with the MRF Pace Foundation began with a session on Running Technique followed by Video shoot to analyze the bowling technique of each bowler.
Later, addressing the media persons, Aussie bowling great reiterated about the effectiveness of this workshop in honing the skills of pace bowler. He emphasized on the need for right training so that skill doesn’t go waste. He concluded by saying that he wants to use his knowledge and experience to train the boys and that is why he is a part of this foundation.
Deserving boys shall be sent for next level of coaching at the MRF Foundation centre in Chennai.
Debasish Chakraborty, Hony. Secretary, JSCA, briefed the media about the idea behind this workshop in a state like Jharkhand which is full of talent that needs a little boost and training in the right direction to excel in the sport. While Senthil explained how such workshops are helping the players by teaching them not just the nuances of the game but also by teaching them the art of shaping their career.
Also present at the press meet were Senthilnathan (MRF Head Coach), Ajay Nath Shahdeo (Vice-President, JSCA) and others.
Earlier on Sunday, McGrath visited JSCA International Stadium and held meeting with the officials. He praised facilities at the stadium.
Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) is organizing a two day workshop for pace bowlers under the expert guidance of seam legend Glenn McGrath at the J.S.C.A. International Cricket Stadium complex in Ranchi on 17 and 18 June in association with MRF Pace Foundation which is a renowned coaching clinic for training fast bowlers from all over the world.
