Jamshedpur: The three criminals , who entered over the house of trader Kailash Agrawal at Subhas Colony in Mango on Monday morning, had also visited the same house three days ago, requesting to stay on rent.
The members of the victim’s family have revealed this before a police team which had been to the Agrawals’ house for investigation.
A senior police officer said that it is possible that the three-member gang which had entered over Agrawal last morning had come to the house three days ago for carrying out a recce.
“We are focusing on the point whether the motive behind the attackers was to commit loot as the family members have claimed. Had the loot was the motive, then the three criminals would have looted the house three days ago,” said the police officer.
Meanwhile, condition of 58-year-old Agrawal who has been shifted at the Tata Main Hospital’s critical care unit (CCU) from the hospital high dependency unit (UDU) continues to be serious.
The bullet which entered into the victim’s ear-lobe side near the neck is yet to be taken out. Though the bleeding has stopped since last evening.
Agrawal who owns a grocery shop at Mango market was shot at and seriously injured by a gang of three criminals who entered into the house at the densely-populated Subhas Colony on Monday.
Though the criminals were not able to take along anything, the family members and kin of the gun-shot victim claim that the criminals had swooped over the house for committing loot. The police have not ruled out the loot angle behind the armed attack, but claim that there may be some other angle which they would find out only after carrying out the investigation.
Superintendent of police (city) Prashant Anand visited the spot and later went to Tata Main Hospital’s HDU. As the victim was not in a condition to speak, senior cop spoke to his brothers about the incident.
“It is very early to say anything about the reason behind the shooting. Though three masked men entered into Agrawal’s house and shot at him after assaulting him inside his house, the reason behind this crime is not clear. We are probing into the incident to find out the reason,” said Anand.
The city SP said initial probe suggests that the reason behind attack on the trader’s house by three masked men was not loot as they have not taken anything along with them.
But, Pawan Agrawal, one of the three brothers of the gun-shot victim claimed that the reason behind the gun-shot attack was loot.
” We are really shocked after the incident. The three masked men had entered into the house soon after my nephew Vikash had gone out for bringing milk from a local store.
As some of them was trying to snatch a gold chain from my daughter-in-law Puja, my brother resisted their move. It was at this point that one of the masked men shot at my brother,” explained Pawan who resides at Tank Road in Ulidih,.
