Jamshedpur : In view of the recent attack on undertrail at the Jamshedpur Civil Court premises, the police administration has turned the court into a virtual fortress with deployment of additional security personnel. The security forces are frisking the visitors.

The step was taken after SSP Amol V Homkar inspected the court on Sunday and instructed the security personnel to ensure that frisking must be ensured at the entrance itself.

Superintendent of police (city) Karthik S said that the number of policemen has been increased from 20 to 50 who will be keeping a strict vigil on the visitors to the court premises, especially the three-stroeyed court complex.

“This is the initial step for augmenting the court security which will be further increased after a meeting between the district administration and the district judge likely to be held tomorrow. As the court premises come under the domain of judiciary, we cannot do anything without taking the court authority in confidence,” said Karthik.

Notably, the unprecedented security measure was taken today after an undertrial gangster Akhilesh Singh was attacked by an armed miscreant Sarabjit Singh at the second floor of the civil court on Saturday morning, exposing chinks in the security system in the civil court.

A lawyer, that the additional security arrangement is to stay for a short time. Officer-in-charge, Sitaramdera police station, Shushil Kumar said that the investigation into the case is on. “We want the 10 days police remand of the Honey Singh as we want to get the mystery behind the murder bid meticuluosly so that we may find out the real culprit involved in the case,” the officer-in-charge said.

Significantly, the CCTV footage derived from the court comlex showed that Honey Singh who is above 6 feet had come to the court complex much before Akhilesh Singh had come.

Significantly, the CCTV footage from the court complex clearly showed that Honey Singh who is above 6 feet had come to the court complex much before Akhilesh Singh had come. The condition of Sarabjit continues to be critical said the medical sources at the Tata Main Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
