Jamshedpur: An ATM card fraud involving Rs 29,900 has come to light under Kama police station area. The alleged impostors duped Uday Kumar Choudhary of TC Colony in Kadma by asking him to furnish his old ATM card number in the name of linking his bank account to Aadhar. Choudhary received the call from mobile number 8877343677 on 25th October last around 5.30 pm. The caller impersonating as a State Bank of India official told Choudhary that his bank account had not been linked to Aadhar. He also sought his Aadhar number. Later, Choudhary received a message showing cash withdrawal from his account.
A supervisor in Tata Steel, Choudhary said he often gave tips to his friends on how to tackle ATM related frauds. Police have lodged an FIR against the unidentified caller.
