Jamshedpur, March 24: Dayanand Public School (DPS) got its own Atal Tinkering Lab on Saturday. The lab will let students explore skills of future such as design and computational thinking, adaptive learning and artificial intelligence and will help encourage innovation skills and develop ideas.
The lab was inaugurated by Avneesh Gupta, Vice President, Shared Services, Tata Steel in presence of Dr. R.N. Sharma, Chairman, Jamshedpur Arya Samaj Trust, Bailey Bodhanwala, B. Chandrashekhar, Principal Swarna Mishra and other trustee members.
Students of the school also displayed their innovative ideas through working models.
The purpose behind setting up ATL lab is to empower students with creativity by undertaking projects at school.
ATL is a workshop space where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands on do-it-yourself mode and learn innovation skills. The objective being to foster curiosity, creativity & imagination in students and inculcate skills such as design mind set, computational thinking , adaptive learning, physical computing , rapid calculations, measurements etc.
Students will get a chance to work with tools & equipment to understand what, how & why aspects of STEM (Science , technology, engineering & Maths). Atal Tinkering Lab will enable to create a problem solving, innovative mind set within students. Atal Tinkering Lab will bring India a step closer to the mission of creating One Million Neoteric Child Innovators in India by 2020.
