Jamshedpur: The 6th yearly International Art Camp will be organised by Off The Wall Art Gallery at its art gallery situated at Supercentre, Kalimati Road, from January 10–13, 2019.
More than 18 artists from Dhaka, Kathmandu, Kolkata, Jalpaiguri , Bokaro & Ranchi along with Jamshedpur will display their art on canvas.
According to press communique issued by the gallery owner Divya Taneja, many in Jamshedpur will see the works of these artists, individually, for the first time, and definitely, collectively under one roof.
‘Off the Wall’ is providing a platform to upcoming and junior artists of Jamshedpur and neighboring areas.
The artists at the camp work in close proximity with the budding artists and appreciate the works of peers and seniors from different backgrounds and different parts of the country and learn skills and techniques, the release added.
The release further stated that the art camp also provides school and college students the scope to work under the guidance of some of the leading artists of the country, be exposed to a plethora of artistic visions and to pursue their interests in a more knowledgeable manner.
There will be a sit & draw art competition on January 13th, 2019 from 8:30 – 10:30 AM for all school and college level students.
Jamshedpurians can witness the works of Md. Kausher Hossain Masud from Dhaka , Bangladesh ; N B Gurung & Dipendra Benapali from Kathmandu, Nepal ; Amalesh Mazumdar from Jalpaiguri ; Shyamal Sikdar, Moumita Ghosh & Sanjoy Banerjee from Kolkata ; Ranjit Kumar from Bokaro ; Haren Thakur , Zakir Shah and Praween Karmakar from Ranchi and last but not the least Subodh Kumar , Mukta Gupta, Uttam Mallick , Anupam Pal, Anup Sinha & Prabir Shaw from Jamshedpur. The Art Camp & show is curated by city based artist Prabir Shaw.
Artists with distinctive styles and of different generations, they work on different mediums and explore themes that reflect the vibrant diversity of contemporary India, taking inspiration from abstract minimalism to rich mythology and global-desi pop culture.
