Jamshedpur: Members of Artists Forum of Jamshedpur launched a live painting campaign on voter awareness near the Bistupur Postal Park on Wednesday. They also organised a signature campaign to motivate people to vote. About 15 artists started to paint at around 11 am and continued till 4 pm making a wide range of collage with colours.
” We want to motivate people to vote. Our theme is voting to inspire people. As artists it is our responsibility to make people aware. We chose a busy place so that passers by and watch us paint. Many stopped and spent their time to see what the artists were painting. Many among them also signed the flex that we have put up,” said an artist of the Artists Forum of Jamshedpur.
Holding placards sensitized voters about the importance of voting. Special children and senior citizens were also part of the initiative.

A total of 1617400 voters will decide the fate of these candidatesA total of 1630 polling booths will be set up for the voting comprising 225 at Bahragora, 252 at Ghatshila, 279 at Potka, 318 at Jugsalai, 264 at Jamshedpur East and 292 at Jamshedpur West. Moreover, 7784 polling personnel will be involved in process of voting. A total of 990 at Bahragora, 1109 at Ghatshila, 1228 at Potka, 1399 at Jugsalai, 1452 at Jamshedpur East and 1606 at Jamshedpur.
