Jamshedpur: A program was organized at Rajendra Bhawan in Golmuri in which army personnel who actively participated in the war of 1971 and the Kargil encounter of 1999 against Pakistan were honoured for their bravery and nullifying the enemy attacks.
Speakers on the occasion paid glowing tributes to the valor of the Indian army ever ready to protect the Motherland under any condition. They said that the army was an example to motivate today’s citizens in the spheres of discipline and dedication.
Along with the army men, the mothers of martyrs were honored as pride of the nation. They were presented bouquets and mementos as tokens of love and respect towards their brave sons who died defending their Motherland. These brave mothers who were bestowed the honour of ‘Veer Nari’ included Jagmaya Devi mother of martyr Kishan Dubey, Durgavati Devi mother of martyr Jitendra Kumar and Sunita Sharma mother of martyr Manoj Kumar.
Cultural program was organized in which Bhangra dance and rendition of patriotic songs added to the mood of the occasion.
