Jamshedpur, Sept 23: BJP leader and founder of Siksha Satyagrah Ankit Anand has accused the District Education Department of giving a long rope to the managing committee of Church School which continues to dominate in spite of several controversies surrounding it. Ankit on Wednesday has once again drawn attention of the district administration by writing to the Deputy Commissioner, DEO and DSO demanding punitive measures against the current managing committee of the school and dissolving the same.

The District Education Department has been accused of keeping the recommendation of the Block Education Extension Officer (BEEO) and the suggested action against the Church School management on the backburner since the past one year thereby providing leeway to it.

It may be mentioned that in 2019, several teachers of the Church School were removed from the payroll without ascribing any reason for the action. The then Deputy Commissioner had ordered an enquiry into the matter. The then BEEO Ram Prasad, following up the order, had conducted an enquiry and verified that the teachers had been removed from the school without legitimate grounds and had recommended action against the managing committee of the school. The BEEO had mentioned in his findings that there were discrepancies pertaining to recruitment and discharging of teachers as per the ICSE Board regulations. There was a mention in the BEEO’s report that with the old secretary being changed his replacement, Sujit Chandra Das in order to appoint his close persons as teachers dismissed the teachers already in service without giving any cause. This move was in gross violation of ICSE Board and state government regulations. The then BEEO while handing the enquiry report to the DEO had recommended that the Church School managing committee be dissolved and strict action be meted out to the members concerned. But, Siksha Satyagrah founder, Ankit Anand contended that the District Education Department showed a soft attitude towards the school’s management and let the report collect dust.

BJP leader Ankit Anand on his application under RTI applied for a copy of the BEEO’s report after which the entire episode came to light. Ankit Anand, in a letter to the DC has questioned the work culture of the District Education Department and from the Siksha Satyagrah platform has demanded that in the light of the BEEO’s report and recommendation, the managing committee of Church School be dissolved and strict action be taken against it.
