Jamshedpur, July 15: Food and Civil Supplies Minister Saryu Roy unveiled the statue of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar at the Kadma Bhim Rao Park. The statue’s cost of Rs Nine lakh was met from the Minister’s legislative fund. A Bhim Rao Ambedkar Community Centre already exists in the Park. The programme was organized by all the units of SC cell of BJP’s Jamshedpur’s West Vidhan Sabha constituency.
In his address Jharkhand Minister Saryu Roy said that a policy should be drawn up for the proper use of the Bhim Rao Ambedkar Community Centre. If necessary, he said that another floor could be added to the present building to set up a library. He also advocated the formation of a committee to oversee the proper functioning of the Community Centre.
Saryu Roy observed on the occasion of unveiling of Dr Ambedkar’s statue, “It is essential that all political activities that have taken place or are taking place based on Dr Ambedkar’s life and mission should be studied minutely. Dr Ambedkar was not only a leader contained to the welfare of the SC community. He envisaged all communities moving forward together.”
Former SDO HN Ram was present on the occasion. Others present included Special Officer of JNAC Krishna Kumar, district president of BJP SC Cell Vimal Baitha, Vijay Kishore, Shambhu Kumar Ram, Om Prakash Rajak, Hira Lal Rajak, Karunadhar Kalindi, Dipu Singh, Amrendra Paswan, Chunnu Bhumij, Rajesh Sao and others.
