Jamshedpur March 12: Tata Crucible Campus Quiz, Jamshedpur edition was organised today at Rajendra Vidyala, Sakchi, Jamshedpur.
Entering its second decade, this intelligent quizzing enthralled students with intriguing and stimulating questions that encouraged them to push their boundaries and showcase their out-of-the-box thinking. Ace quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam a.k.a ‘Pickbrain’, conducted the quiz as he has been doing for the last decade. Ashish Mathur, Managing Director, Jusco graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Jamshedpur edition saw a total of 110 teams participating in the preliminary rounds. Six teams moved on to the final round that included 3 teams from NIT Jamshedpur, two from XLRI Jamshedpur and one from IIT Kharagpur. Akash Kumar & Palak Kumar from NIT Jamshedpur were adjudged as winners with a prize money of Rs 10000/- while Arijit Patra and Sayon Dutta from IIT Kharagpur came as runners up with a prize money of Rs 50,000/-.
The quiz with its cerebral format will reach out to a total of 34 cities. The winners of the regional rounds will then compete in the zonal finals. The top two teams from each zone will be invited to the national finals to be held in Mumbai in April 2015.
The winners of the national finals will receive a grand prize of Rs.700,000/-* along with the coveted Tata Crucible Trophy, while the winners of the regional rounds and runner-ups will be awarded a prize money of Rs.100,000/-* and Rs.50,000/-* respectively, including direct contribution to charity.
