Jamshedpur, Sept 18: In a complaint note handed to SDO Dhalbhum, Chandan Kumar a faction of the Akhil Bharatiya Tailik Sahu Mahasabha (ABTSM) accused the Manoj Gupta faction of continuing the membership drive in spite of the SDO’s verbal directive of putting on hold such moves till the end of the functioning of the current executive body. Incidentally, the term of the ABTSM’s district committee is to conclude on September 25, 2019.
The delegation that handed the complaint note to the SDO included Rakesh Sahu, Ranjit Gupta, Bhola Prasad, Rajkishore Gupta, Lavkush Sao, Shivam Kumar, Bimlesh Sao, Arjun Sao and Birendra Sao. This delegation claimed that the membership drive was being conducted illegally with the purpose of misguiding the members of the Tailik Sahu community.
This faction contended that in spite of the SDO’s verbal instruction to stop the membership drive till the end of the tenure of the current committee on September 25, 2019, the drive was being continued by the Manoj Gupta faction. They cited the district level meeting of ABTSM about nine months ago wherein it had been unanimously decided that the membership drive would be conducted under the supervision of a vigilance committee. The purpose behind the drive at that time was to enable members to cast their votes in the election.
