Jamshedpur/Ranchi, Aug 4: Coronavirus cases are increasing at a rapid pace Jharkhand.
Three COVID-19 patients in Jharkhand died of the virus on Tuesday, August 4 taking the state toll to 132.
On the other hand 417 new corona positives have been reported in Jharkhand on Tuesday.
COVID cases in the East Singhbhum district took surge, with total number of Coronavirus positive cases has crossed 2300 mark and the total number of deaths due to the deadly virus has climbed to 45 in Jamshedpur. 98 cases were recorded in Jamshedpur on Tuesday. Two corona positive patients died of the virus at Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur.
48-year-old woman resident of Kadma Farm area died of the virus on Tuesday morning.
The second death at TMH was of Seraikela Bar Association president Umakant Mishra and will be counted in death toll of Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
Expressing concern over the growing number of Covid cases in the city, East Singhbhum civil surgeon Rajendra Jha despite the district administration making all efforts, the people are not adhering to the rules of wearing masks and maintaining social distance.
“People are not taking the virus seriously. Markets are flooded with people. If the people continue to evade following the norms of maintaining social distance and wearing masks, then the number of Covid cases may increase further,” said Jha.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 2300 mark.
98 new cases were reported on Tuesday, August 4 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 2360.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 98 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Monday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 6, Chatra 1, Dumka 2, East Singhbhum 98, Garhwa 14, Giridih 3, Godda 44, Gumla 1, Hazaribagh 10, Khunti 28, Koderma 61, Latehar 19, Pakur 25, Lohardaga 4, Ranchi 9, Seraikela 12 and West Singhbhum 9 taking the state corona tally to 14023.
For 21 days in a row over 200 cases have been reported every single day in the state.

The death toll in Jharkhand stands at 132 while corona positive tally has climbed to 14023.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.
The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.
The order said that “All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.”
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 8742 and fatalities at 132 while 5199 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2245 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
