Haldia: C K Tiwari, Executive Director, Haldia Refinery unfurled the Tricolour at Haldia Refinery as part of 70th Republic Day celebrations.
The national anthem was sung by a chorus group of children led by Kendriya Vidyalaya. The Chief Guest inspected all the platoons consisting of CISF, Township Security, students of DAV Public School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Kendriya Vidyalaya. The platoons presented a march past saluting the National Tricolour.
Chief Guest addressed the large gathering of Haldia Refinery family and stakeholders on this occasion. Colorful tri-color balloons and pigeons were released by Dignitaries.
Different tableaus were displayed on the theme- 150 years celebrating the Mahatma. Prizes and awards were presented under various categories by the Chief Guest and dignitaries. Winners of Good Housekeeping Contest and Incident Free Section followed by Best Platoon performance were felicitated. On this occasion “Long Service Award” was awarded to twenty-two individuals for 25years of service and thirty-seven individuals for 30 years of service.
In his address, CK Tiwari expressed how Haldia Refinery has tried to take up its share of responsibility and have completed some focused projects towards skill development projects of Govt. of India. Over 150 unemployed youth were trained under CSR scheme in association with CIPET in which over 88% of candidates’ secured job after completion of these programs.
