Ranchi, June 21: Jharkhand on Saturday reported 65 new coronavirus cases taking the tally to 2092. In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has risen to 323 with 13 new cases reported on June 21.
Of the 13 positives in Jamshedpur, 2 have travel history to Delhi and 1 person has returned from Mumbai. 7 positive people are resident of Bahragora, 2 are from Mousabani and one each from Dhalbhumgarh, Agrico, Sidhgora and Baridih. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 ward. On Sunday, 8 patients have recovered in the East Singhbhum district of which 5 from TMH and 3 from Tata Motors COVID-19 ward have been discharged. Of the 8 discharged 4 are resident of Chakulia and one each from Bagbera, Birsanagar, Dimna and Dhatkidih.
Other positives in Jharkhand are from Khunti 1, Gumla 7, Bokaro 7, Giridih 6, West Singhbhum 2, Godda 7, Deoghar 11, Ranchi 2, Koderma 2, Hazaribagh 4, Ramgarh 2, Lohardaga 1 taking the total tally to 2092. In Jharkhand 1473 patients have defeated the virus while 616 active cases are still present in the state.
In West Singhbhum both the positives are resident of Jagganathpur while a migrant was found positive in Lohardaga who returned from Mumbai.
Bokaro, Deoghar, Godda and Khunti districts had become corona free but new cases came up in the four districts on Sunday. Only three districts Sahebganj, Dumka and Pakur don’t have any corona positive cases.
Jharkhand reported its 11th coronavirus death on Thursday. Most of the 2092 cases have been found positive is migrants.
Earlier on Saturday, Tata Steel workers without travel history tested positive for the virus. Two permanent employees of Tata Steel Tube Division and one contract worker of Shared Services have tested positive for the corona on Saturday. The positives are resident of Baridih area and the district administration has turned it into containment zone. Tube Baridih and Baridih Basti has been sealed. 6 Tube Division workers who came in contact with Tata employees have been admitted to TMH.
In Jharkhand, there has been no percentage prevalence of community transmission found in the Sero-Survey conducted by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in three districts of the state.
Based on the reports received by ICMR, there is no community transmission of COVID-19 in Jharkhand.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. Earlier, two intern doctors at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) were found to be Covid-19 positive, health officials said, adding that they had a recent travel history. East Singhbhum district accounts for 310 cases out of a total of 1965.
