Jharkhand reports 11 deaths, 531 new cases
Jamshedpur/Ranchi, August 10: Eleven people died of coronavirus in Jharkhand on Monday, August 10 taking the toll to 189.
Five deaths have been reported from Jamshedpur, 2 each from West Singhbhum and Sahebganj while one death each was reported from Deoghar and Garhwa.
531 fresh cases were reported in the state on Monday taking the state tally to 18786, till the filing of this report.
699 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital’s across the state on Monday. 9748 people have recovered in Jharkhand till date.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 2900 mark.
67 new cases were reported on Monday, August 10 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 2915.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 67 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Monday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
With five deaths in Jamshedpur on Sunday the death toll in East Singhbhum district climbed to 77.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 29, Chatra 4, Deoghar 29, Dhanbad 14, Dumka 8, East Singhbhum 67, Garhwa 39, Giridih 10, Godda 3, Gumla 18, Hazaribagh 14, Jamtara 2, Khunti 7, Koderma 25, Latehar 27, Lohardaga 6, Pakur 1, Palamu 60, Ramgarh 33, Ranchi 62, Sahebganj 15, Seraikela 17, Simdega 29 and West Singhbhum 12. The state corona tally has climbed to 18786.
The death toll in Jharkhand stands at 189 while corona positive tally has climbed to 18786.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.
The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.
The order said that “All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.”
