Corona positive tally crosses 18000 mark

Jamshedpur/Ranchi, August 8: Ten people died of coronavirus in Jharkhand on Sunday, August 9 taking the toll to 176. 

Four deaths were reported from Jamshedpur, 1 each from Palamu, West Singhbhum, Deoghar, Giridih and 2 people died in Ranchi.

588 fresh cases were reported in the state on Saturday taking the state tally to 18160.

447 people recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital’s across the state.

In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 2800 mark.     

125 new cases were reported on Sunday, August 9 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 2848.

The district administration spokesperson informed that 125 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Friday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.

With four deaths in Jamshedpur on Sunday the death toll in East Singhbhum district climbed to 72.

Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 29, Chatra 1, Deoghar 14, Dhanbad 18, Dumka 1, East Singhbhum 125, Garhwa 85, Giridih 2, Godda 8, Gumla 12, Hazaribagh 27, Jamtara 3, Khunti 12, Koderma 8, Pakur 6, Palamu 63, Ramgarh 9, Ranchi 71, Sahebganj 14, Seraikela 11, Simdega 25 and West Singhbhum 44. The state corona tally has climbed to 18160.

The death toll in Jharkhand stands at 176 while corona positive tally has climbed to 18160.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.

The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.

The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.

The order said that “All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.”
