Jamshedpur, Jan 17: Wheels is back with a bang. The students from schools and colleges across the city are gearing up for unlimited fun, entertainment and contests at the cultural event “Wheels” organized by Tata Motors’ GET (Graduate Engineers Trainee) Club.
The socio-Cultural event will step into 27th year of celebrations surpassing 26 years of successfully hosting the event.
The cultural extravaganza will kick off on Jan 23 and continue till Jan 25. As with all previous occasions, Wheels 2014 promises to provide the dual platform of allowing the youth to showcase their talent as well as an opportunity for young GETs to hone their managerial and administrative skills.
GETs of 2012-13 batches have come forward in trying to put up a memorable experience, while in the process exhibiting great solidarity and team work propelled by an undaunted spirit of enthusiasm.
A renewed fervor and enthusiasm spreads through the city as this year’s theme is “Celebrating Indianness”, which promises a scintillating line up for intellectual and fun events, informative workshops and many learning opportunities for school and college students, said Captain PJ Singh, spokesperson, Tata Motors addressing the media at Telco Club today.
Talking of relevance to its theme, Wheels 2014 has come up with entirely new events like pot painting in which clay pots have to be painted, Clay art in which a piece of art has to carved using clay, Spellathon to test spell skills of students, Rangmanch, a CSR event in which a social issue is to be presented as a skit and canvas painting to inculcate an ethnic awareness amongst the participants.
While Remote Control robot workshop tests technical edges of bright young minds, Futsal helps instill the camaraderie shared by sportsmen. Nukkad, where participating groups have to come up with street plays based on social causes, is an excellent occasion to create self-awareness and consciousness regarding the social times we live in, added Singh.
