Jamshedpur, Dec 30: The second edition of the Tata Community Football Tournament (TCFT) was organized by the Tata Group of Companies in Kolhan region of Jharkhand from the month of June 2013 till August 2013 with an aim to encourage young talent, nurture them and provide a platform to showcase their skills by ensuring their selection in various sports academies.
This tournament witnessed participation of more than 1250 teams representing about 18,000 players from 40 urban and rural areas including Jamshedpur, Seraikela, Chaibasa, Manoharpur, Rajnagar, Chandil, Chakradharpur.
Taking the initiative forward, 700 boys were spotted during the Football tournament, of which 80 were selected in the first phase of the screening. 26 boys got through in the second phase, and are undergoing training in an ongoing three day camp from December 29 – 31, 2013.
Out of these 26 players five best will get a chance to perform in the trials at the Tata Football Academy in February 2014.The players hail from various districts of Jharkhand state including Manoharpur, Rajnagar, Chandil, Seraikela and others.
The selected candidates that are undergoing training at three day camp include Sachin Kumar Gorai from West Bokaro village in West Bokaro block, Uday Kumar West Bokaro block and village, Dinesh Kumar of West Bokaro, Vivek Mahato of Manoharpur, Somnath Jerai of Noamundi, Shivnath Soren of Dumuria, Mohan Orano of Chakradharpur, Gurabari of Chaibasa, Sitaram Sardar of Seraikela, Ajeet Mahato and Ramrai Soren of Jamshedpur, Vishal Kumar Pandey of Chandil, Blaram Hansdah of Potka, Shaireel Hoda of Potka, Marshal Mardi and Yogeshwar Besra of Chandil, Sagar Mardi of Karandih, Ramesh Hansda of Chakulia, Somchand Hembrom of Chandil, Sahdeo Munda of Gamaharia, S. Purty of Chaibasa, Sukhlal Kunlal of Sundernagar, Subham Siren of Potka, Jagar Hembrom of Musabani, Mangal Singh Sardar of Chandil and Nilmohan Nayak of Seraikela.
