Jamshedpur, July 27: In view of the disconcerting increase in COVID-19 infection cases, the Deputy Commissioner, Suraj Kumar today held a video conferencing with all officials concerned to install 250 bed quarantine centres near interstate checkposts in the district. he directed all BDOs and Notified Area officials to ensure installation of the quarantine centres under their command areas.
The DC stated that all visitors through interstate borders would be allowed into the district provided they carried travel passes failing which they would be denied entry. All those coming in will be accommodated in these quarantine centres with options for paid centres. Suraj Kumar directed the officials that they were to implement social distancing norms and use of masks by people in their command areas. They were to simultaneously carry out inspection to enforce preventive protocols.
The district administration is on its toes to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection. All visitors coming into the district will be under close surveillance and drives would be conducted to ensure that people do not leave their homes unnecessarily and if they do they should wear masks. In market areas, shopkeepers are being constantly urged to wear masks, serve only those customers who are wearing masks and to maintain social distancing in their places of business. ADM Nand Kishor Lal and ADC Saurav Kumar Sinha were also present during the video conferencing.
