Jamshedpur, Oct. 4 : In collaboration with CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jharkhand State Chapter of The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) is organizing a workshop entitled Science and Technology Sensitization Program for the Women leading towards Excellence in Science on Oct 5 and 6 at NML’s Auditorium.
With an objective of empowering women students, researchers and faculty members in the field of science and technology and motivate them towards the excellence, The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) through its Jharkhand State Chapter in collaboration with CSIR NML is going to organize a workshop of Oct 5th and 6th, 2017 at CSIR-NML. The event will be chaired by Manju Sharma, former Secretary of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Dr. Sudha Nair, CEO, Golden Jubilee Biotech Park for Women Society, Chennai will be the key note speaker in the event.
The National Academy Of Sciences, India, being the oldest science academy in the country under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India was established in 1930 by Prof Meghnad Saha at Allahabad. The Academy undertakes several “science-society” programs under the guidance of its Presidents and Fellows. Currently Dr Anil Kakodkar is the President of NASI which has 18 local chapters in the entire country. Jharkhand State Chapter of NASI was inaugurated in 2013 by then Academy President Dr Kasturirangan and Dr S. Srikanth, former Director CSIR NML and a fellow of the academy was the founder Chairman of the Jharkhand State Chapter. Currently the chapter is led by Dr Arvind Sinha, Chief Scientist, CSIR-NML and a Fellow of the academy.
