Jamshedpur, Sep 21: : The campaign for the election of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( SCCI) has gathered momentum with candidates in fray putting every efforts to woo the voters. With rumours being also spread about the Presidential candidate of SCCI, Suresh Sonthalia of sailing in two different boats and later denying the charges has put the members in a spot of bother.
Prabhakar Singh candidate for the post of General Secretary, Nand Kishore Agrawal for Vice President ( Business and Commerce), Kamal Kumar Naredi Vice President (Public Relation and Welfare), Durga Prasad Mittal Secretary (Public Relations and welfare) along with Deepak Bhalotia for General Secretary post seeing all the haywire over the election procedure today held a press meet at city hotel to discuss about their planning and execution of the plans for the election on September 24 at Chamber Bhawan.
Prabhakar Singh said that we are not supporting any team or individual but together we should work as a team and let the business partners grow from strength to strength.
We have written to the administration to provide full proof support for fair election, no outside person should be allowed inside other than the members, and with people sitting in the post for more than two decades should give new people a chance. We will have to make Chamber more effective in the interest of the businessmen and to add more members to the working committee, added Singh. He further said that members have been disappointed with the work of the Chamber.
Nand Kishore Agrawal said that members should first attend the annual general meeting of the Chmaber and then they should vote.
Deepak Bhalotia said that it will first time that chamber will hold election without the presence of its President RK Agrawal who in horse trading case in behind bars.
Kedarmal Palsania said that yound should be given opportunity and with a meeting scheduled with ADM we will further discuss about the preparations with him.
Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), a leading representative body of entrepreneurs and small industrial houses based in the Kolhan division, is all set for the election of its new committee. The election will conclude on September 24 with the polling.
It may be mentioned that the SCCI has been functioning without the president since May this year after its president Raj Kumar Agarwal was sent to jail for his role in the 2012 Rajya Sabha cash-for-vote scam.
The oldest traders body of the state (second in undivided Bihar) SCCI which was constituted in 1950 has close to 1100 members and is the largest body looking after businessmen interest in Kolhan region comprising East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.
