A workshop on “Communication Networks & Cyber Security has been jointly organized by Global ICT Standardization Forum of India (GISFI) and HMR Institute of Technology & Management, an ISO 9001: 2008 Certified, AICTE approved & GGSIP University affiliated institute on 10th March, 2014 at Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Delton Hall,Lodhi Road, Delhi.
The workshop has been marked by the presence of Prof. Dr. Ramjee Prasad, Founding Chairman, GISFI & Founding Director of Centre for TeleInFrastruktur (CTIF), Aalborg University, Denmark, Mr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Chairman, HMRITM and various dignitaries from dept of Telecom, Govt. of India. The workshop was attended by a wide array of personnel from the telecom industry, India & abroad, faculty members & students of various engineering colleges.
The workshop was highlighted by the presence of Prof. Marin Kristov, Rector of Technical University, Sofia, Bulgaria & Prof. Vladimir Kostadinov Poulkov, Dean, Faculty of Telecommunication, Technical University, Sofia, Bulgaria. The opening of the Workshop took place with focus on GISFI Strategy – in the first and coming five years by Prof. Dr. Ramjee Prasad who discussed the emergence of new technologies like 6 G and what role it will play in the advancement of a country like India and how any country should look forward to address issues of Cyber Security. Mr. Ram Narain, Sr. DDG, Security also discussed relevant issues like what are the parameters of a good security measure and how India can encourage its budding talent to takeover the emerging telecom security sector. The opening session was wrapped up by Mr. T R Dua, Vice Chairman, GISFI on how product development can take place on the footprint of a strong telecom database and security testing standards.
A Memorandum of Understanding between HMR-CTIF-Vishwaniketan Network has been signed with Aalborg University, Denmark and tomorrow another Memorandum of Understanding is going to be signed between the network and Technical University, Bulgaria and HMR Institute of Technology & Management, Delhi to offer fellowship for Ph. D for staff members of HMRITM with 85% scholarship & 45 days fellowship of Under Graduate students of HMR Institute.
