Kolkata, Jan 29 (IANS) Two people were Wednesday detained and one kg of gold worth Rs.30 lakh seized from them at the airport here, an official said.
Another person was arrested at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Airport for carrying 50,000 euros, the official added.
“We have detained two people for illegally carrying gold. Nearly 500 grams of gold from each of them has been seized. The duo, hailing from south india, had boarded a flight from Bangkok.
“We have arrested a Kolkata man for illegally carrying 50,000 euros,” Assistant Commissioner of Customs R.S. Meena said.
The arrested man has been handed to police.
