Chaibasa, March 20 : The Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan (ASA), a tribal organisation, staged a silent protest before the DC office on Monday.

The protestors submitted a three points memorandum to the deputy commissioner addressed to the President of India demanding to cancel the destructive development model of Raghubar Das and roll back of the amendments in CNT-SPT and domicile policy.

According to the protestors, the present development model of Raghubar Das government would destroy the environmental equilibrium in the state and thousands of people would be displaced owing to the establishment of heavy industries in Jharkhand.

The demonstrators appealed the president to maintain status quo of village consent and village meeting (Gram Sabha).

Present on the occasion were Kushnu Koda, Subedar Birua, Vinod Gope, Jay Deogam, Shyam Laguri and others.
