Sahibganj, Jan. 5: In order to review land acquisition work and preparation for the laying of foundation stone for a bridge on the Ganga at Sahibganj by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma reached Sahibganj on Thursday.
During the review meeting, Verma said that the raiyats should be given the due compensation amount on time and directed the ADC and Land Acquisition Officer concerned to release funds on time and acquire land for the said project on a war footing.
The CS said the bridge will connect Bihar, West Bengal and other eastern states and give impetus to business and employment in the region. She also visited the proposed sites of Ambadi and Ganga Prasad Purab Panchayat and directed the officers to do the needful.
Reviewing the works of bankers for financial inclusion, Verma directed the bank officers to hold camps to open accounts of the villagers and issue as well as activate Rupay cards.
She also directed the Sahibganj DC to hold a joint meeting with bank managers, Pragya Kendras and post office representatives. She also said to ensure better use of BHIM app. A special IT technical team will be sent to Sahibganj for training people in cashless transaction.
The CS also reviewed Swachh Bharat Mission implementation, health services, social welfare and other technical departments.
On this occasion Principal Secretary, Home S. K. G. Rahate, DGP D. K. Pandey, ADGP Anurag Gupta, Special Branch R. K. Mallik, DIG Akhilesh Jha, SP Sahibganj P. Murugan, SBI DGM Ranchi, DGM Deoghar, Regional Manager Pakur, ADC and other officers were present on this occasion.
