Jamshedpur: State Food Minister cum MLA of Jamshedpur West Saryu Rai on Monday took stock of the current status of the ongoing bridge construction work over river Swarnarekha near Sonari Domuhani and the road construction on NH 33 near Kanderbera.
He directed the authorities concerned to ensure that the bridge and road become functional before the rainy season so that the burden of heavy vehicles on Mango is reduced.
Seeking the status report from the secretary of road construction department, Mast Ram Meena, and department engineers, Rai asked about the time expected for the completion of the two projects. He was told that one lane of the bridge would be functional before rains.
He was also informed that the determination of compensation amount against the land coming in the spate of three km stretch of the road was proving to be a bit difficult for the department.
