Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will launch a public awareness campaign against the recent amendments in the Chhota Nagpur Tenancy Act and the Santhal Paragana Tenancy Act by the BJP-led state government. This was declared here on Tuesday by the Seraikela MLA and senior party leader Champai Soren during a press conference organized at Gamharia.
Soren said the party was going to launch Ulgulan or a movement against the amendments in land laws. Soren further said that the party demanded immediate withdrawal of FIR against 500 unidentified persons in connection with the public protest in the presence of the CM in Kharsawan on 1st January. He said if the cases are not withdrawn, the party would organize a 500 kilometre-long human chain in March and hand over a memorandum to the President. He further said that the party would demand revocation of amendments made in the local land laws by the BJP government through its memorandum.
