Chaibasa, Dec. 9: West Singhbhum deputy commissioner (DC) Shantanu Kumar Agrahari convened a reviewed meeting of the district supply department at his office on Friday and asked the authorities concerned to collect farmers’ account number details, IFSC code, mobile numbers, tax receipt and Adhaar Number details for facilitating smooth purchase of their paddy at the paddy purchase centres across the district.
The DC said that one administration staff and one staff of the rice mills will be present at procurement centres. He asked the staff to ensure that no farmer is returned with unsold paddy. “The authorities concerned should also ensure that no farmers should return with paddy. They cannot refuse to purchase the paddy.
If paddy is refused, strict action will be taken against the procurement officer. We have only 22 centres and the district cooperative officer will be in direct link with the centres. Go-down should be emptied every week and prior to paddy storage in the go-downs, intimation should be given to the concerning areas SDO or IAS trainee Naman Priyesh Lakra.
The DC also directed the department staff to supply food-grains at the go-dawn on 30th of every month to distribute the same for the next month. “The dealers should send the food-grains to the centres on 6th of every month and food-grains should be distributed through E-PoS machines.
The vendors and the dealers should make cashless transactions.
Ujjwal scheme was also reviewed by the DC in the meeting. The DC asked the sugar supply officer to be present in the next meeting. Among those present at the meeting included the three SDOs, AGM, MOs. and dealers from across the district.
